Our COVID-19 Update
The emergence of COVID-19 has presented us all with unprecedented challenges, leaving us a bit uncertain as to how or when life will return to normal. As you know, all of us at Smile Hilliard are passionate about your oral health and how it relates to overall health. We want to let you know that Smile Hilliard is preparing for our eventual return to patient care, but obviously not “business as usual” as we have come to know it.
How Will the Office Change?
There may be some noticeable changes the next time you walk into the office. We may be asking additional health related questions prior to your appointment. We may ask you to wait in your car until we are ready to seat you in your treatment room. We may be donning more Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) than you are used to seeing us wear. Social distancing may require us to have fewer people in the office at one time. We may need to temporarily discontinue certain office amenities that you have come to enjoy.
Currently, we have been unable to acquire all of the necessary PPE to reopen due to the hospitals having priority access to it as first-line responders. This is of great concern to us and we will not reopen until we have everything we need to operate safely. At Smile Hilliard, we uphold the recommendations of the CDC and OSHA and take all precautions to make sure that you, as well as our team members, are safe while at the office.
When Will the Office Open Again?
We are still unsure of when Smile Hilliard will be able to open again for routine services such as check-ups, cleanings, and other restorative and cosmetic treatments. We are constantly looking to our government officials and industry leaders for guidance on when it is safe and appropriate to reopen our doors. As soon as we have a reopening date, we will let you know via email, text and social media messages. Anyone who had an appointment that was cancelled due to COVID-19 will be notified first to reschedule. We will also be directly contacting anyone who received emergency care with us during the closure. Of course, anyone else who would like an appointment should also feel free to contact us, however, please be aware that your preferred date/time may not be immediately available.
Do I Have to Come in if I Feel Unsafe?
Lastly, we are aware that the threat of COVID-19 will not be 100% gone, and some of you may still voluntarily wish to remain socially distant at home, either for your health or the health of others. We understand. This virus is scary and has completely altered our daily lives. If you have a future appointment with us, but feel it is best for you to stay home, please let us know as soon as possible and we will reschedule you for a later date. We are monitoring our voicemail and email and will respond to messages as needed.
